NIHR HPRU in Gastrointestinal Infections Annual Scientific Meeting 2015

On Wednesday 25 March 2015 the first Annual Scientific Meeting of the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) in Gastrointestinal Infections was held at the University of Liverpool in London attracting an audience of researchers, practitioners, policymakers and stakeholders from across the UK. Keynote talks from Professor Bernie Hannigan (Public Health England) and Professor Patrick Wall (University College Dublin) accompanied presentations from scientists and students representing the HPRU's six research themes. The HPRU’s mission is to generate new strategies for controlling gastrointestinal infection, supporting PHE’s main objectives of addressing inequalities, protecting the country from infectious diseases, and being an evidence-led organisation providing answers to public health problems.
